Claiming Dinner PDUs

Questions related to Dinner Events

Here you can find various aspects about PDUs related to Dinner Events. For other information related to PDUs and the CCR Process visit the PDUs/CCR FAQ.

How many PDUs can I claim for a Dinner Event?

PMI-VI Dinner Event will earn a maximum of 2 PDUs. A PDU is a measure of time spent in a structured learning activity.

The rule for claiming PDUs is 1 PDU can be claimed for each (prorated) hour of activity related to your professional development as a project manager. Our Dinner Events provide two sources of PDUs:

  1. The speaker who typically talks for one hour. Therefore, count 1 PDU. If you can only stay for half of the presentation you would only count a 0.5 PDU.
  2. Interacting professionally with other project managers. We typically start our gatherings 30 minutes before the official start of the meeting which provides valuable time for networking. In addition, you may conduct more interaction with other PMPs while sharing the meal. Therefore, you may claim up to 1 more PDU for time spent in this way.

Reporting of PDUs earned through Dinner Event is done on the honour system. It is up to each member to determine exactly how much time they spend during dinner in activities that would be considered professional development. Once again, this would be based on the length of the presentation and the amount of time in interaction with other people at the event - up to a maximum of 2 PDUs per Dinner Event.
